oh WHAT A BATHING BEAUTY!!

Although its cold and frosty in the UK at the moment I've been thinking about warmers days, going to the beach, eating ice cream and just lazing in the sun and its all because of this lovely BATHING BELLE ANGEL..........

I made it from a pattern in the Tilda Sew Sunny Homestyle book, I just love her.

Recently I went to the launch of a book for children entitled DOLLY DOODLES and Her  Adventures in Muddle-Puddle.  It is the creation of a lovely person, Sammie Luck, and is briefly about a place where everything is upside down and back to front and Dolly and her Best Furry Friend Tinkaboo an adorable little dog have an adventure.  There are more books to come with Dolly and her BFF visiting  different places.  The stories have a crafting element to them based on what has happened in the adventure.  Do have a look at the website www.idoobdoo.com

Thats all for now do have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

3 TEDDIES

Hi Everyone

Hope your having a good weekend.  I would like to share some teddies that I made.  They are not the toy type, but just for sitting on a shelf somewhere or hanging around on the wall or door handle.
I just love the sentiment on the ted with the pink bow it says "Teddy Bears don't need hearts they are already stuffed with LOVE"  Is'nt that just sweet.
Whilst I had my sewing machine out I also made some strawberries from felt and the same material as strawberry ted:

I added some lavender oil to the stuffing - so
there you go strawberries smelling of lavender.
One to confuse the senses!!!!

I must tell you about a lovely shop that I visited today it's called TRASH TO TREASURE,  it's located in the High Street in Hythe, Kent. Do visit if you are in the area, the lovely lady Debbie who runs it holds some wonderful paper folding classes, amongst others, using pages of books etc.  The projects are really unusual and well worth a look.

Thats all for now, have a happy day.

Lacy Lady

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all having a good day.  I'd like to share with you an idea that I got from a recent visit to a little shop near where I live that sells of sorts of lovely, pretty things.

It's a piece of wall art using a stamp that you have with a good open area for you to be able to adhere some fabric/ lace to.

The products I used were:

                                          Kanban Stamp
                                          Wall Canvas 14 x11 inches
Acrylic Paint (rasberry, white and black) mixed
                                           Transfer Paper
                                           Tim Holtz distress marker (black)
                                           Some bling from my stash

Firstly I stamped the image and then enlarged it to fit the size of my canvas, painted the canvas in a random kind of way, traced the enlarged image onto the canvas using a pencil.  I then cut the main part of the dress from the image and used as a pattern for the lace.

I then went over the pencil lines with the distress marker, stuck the lace onto the lady using glue gel and added some bling ( I used rhinestones but the one in the shop used sequins and it looked fab).

It was so simple to do and using lace instead of fabric just adds to the elegance of the image.  Of course you can use any image a pair of ballet shoes would look good.

I do hope you like it and have a go at making it yourself.

Bye for now

TILDA ANGEL DOLLS

A Guide to re-gaining Your MOJO

Good Morning All you lovely Crafters.

Do you ever get stuck in a rut with your paper crafting?  I know I do - I thinks it's called losing your MOJO.

Well mine went for a walk and has only just come back thanks in part to the lovely TILDA ANGELS.

I bought the Tilda Sew Pretty Homestyle book some time ago and just flicked through it now and again - it's a great coffee table book - looking at the oh so pretty pictures.

Then one day, not long ago, in a land far away - STOP..STOP!  I'm getting carried away with this Angel theme.  Anyway whilst MOJO was gone I decided to have a go at making one of the Angels - just a prototype to see how easy/hard they were.

And this is Angel Prototype:

I was quite pleased with her and made Angel Proper...

and here she is:

The patterns in the book are easy to follow and the right size, no messing about enlarging etc.

I know the kits to make these can be rather expensive but I made mine from remnants of material and for the hair I used bobbly wool.

These are the ingredients for my Angels:

Body:      Curtain lining or any plain material with a hint of beige/brown colour.
Clothes:   Felt for jumper, shoes and rose/leaves and wings.  Remnant of material for skirt
                and trousers.
Hair:        Any type of bobbly wool.
Stuffing for the body.

You don't necessarily need a sewing machine, in fact I stitched Angel Proper's face by hand, I found it too  difficult with the machine.

Here are the two of them gossipping:

There are so many more wonderful projects in this book I'm trying the strawberry cushion next.

By the way MOJO made a welcome return.

Happy Crafting

Mabel Lucie Attwell Designs

Hi All

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes. I know I'm late (have been all my life-drives my husband crazy) but the heartfelt wish is still the same - A HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!

Just before Christmas I received a gift from www.katysuedesigns.com that included the wonderful Mable Lucie Attwell designs. I already had the cd, it has some so,so sweet digis on it, well worth buying just for them. This is a new year card I made using a digi from the cd, does'nt this little girl's face bring a ray of sunshine into the day - much needed at the moment in the UK.

Here's a photo showing the digi that I coloured in using promarkers and chalks:

I also used cuts from my Cricut and other bits and bobs I had laying around.

Bye for now.

Christmas Book Cards

Hi Everyone
I'd like to share an idea for a different kind of christmas card that I found on the Whiff of Joy Blog.
It's made to look like a book and the best bit is that you can put little treats inside, so it becomes a gift as well.
Here are the ones I made for my Grandchildren....

this is the inside filled with a chocolate snowman

and some more ....

I used Polkadoodles images and papers from their christmas cd plus some stamped images from my stash. I think its best to use thick card for these so that they are substantial if you want to use them as gift boxes. Of course they would also look great with a scene inside.

I hope you like them and give them a go.

LITTLE BOOKS

I'd like to share with you some little books that I bought from the pound store - a pack of 4 for £1 !!!I was so pleased to have found them, could'nt wait to get started.

I used stamps -rubber and digi- and papers and embelishments from my stash. This is a really good way to use up all those left over bits and pieces that we all keep - just in case!!!. Some I covered completely others just the front and backs. I made quite a few for my charity, these are just a few, and at that price I just could'nt go wrong.
Hope you like them,
Thanks for stopping bye,

Back to blogging

Well I'm finally making friends again with Mr Blogger. It's been too long, how time flies - or do we fly past time?
I thought I'd kick off by entering the Sassy Challenge 1-2-3. I do just adore these images and now they are in digi form they have become more affordable as well as being versatile for sizing etc.

I hope (no I will be back again) later in the week to show some books that I have covered - they only cost £1 for 4 - what a bargain!

See you soon

Bird Box Template

I have'nt blogged for a while, I must make an effort to blog more often. I wonder if anyone else feels as I do about blogging. I always find it an effort to blog mainly because I think why would anyone be interested in what I'm doing. I suppose it might come down to when I was a child having a diary and not letting anyone see it, although there was nothing to hide it was just that your diary was very very private. Does anyone else feel this way about blogging?

Anyway to get to the point of this post, I've been making bird boxes to sell at fetes during the summer for my charity The Brooke equine animal charity. It's aim is to alleviate suffering of millions of horses, donkeys and mules working in the poorest parts of the world, providing veterinary treatment and teaching owners how to look after their animals so that they live healthy lives and in turn work harder to provide a better living for the owners.

I'd like to share the template for these cuties, go to Inspired Papertry Ink It's a little bit different from the usual square box.

Here are some of the ones I made:

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I did.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Flower Palette

I'm really into making paper flowers at the moment and the Shabby Tearoom's challenge this week just fitted in with this.

I have drawn the image using a piece of wall art that my friend has hanging on her dining room wall as inspiration. I then coloured her with promarkers and distress inks. The bird and sentiment are Birds of a Feather from The Artistic Stamper. I made the flowers using a heart punch, coloured them with distress inks and then applied some clear glaze.

Well thats all for now, must get on sticking and cutting! Have a good weekend whatever your doing.
Thanks for stopping bye.

Show stopper Shoes

I was inspired yesterday by Kirstin's quirky Saturated Canary blog to make a shoe with a little difference. It also gave me a chance to make a flower using the beading mesh wire that I have had for sometime.

Hope you like it, have a happy day and thanks for stopping by.

A Lillies, cupcakes and games kinda Sunday

I finally got around to making some lillies on Sunday(yesterday).
My grandchildren were visiting so they helped (well they applied a little glue!)and am quite pleased with the result but I'm sure, as with everything, the more you practise the better you get. I found the instruction on a very talented lady's blog Valitasfreshfolds

Next on the list was the Cupcake making. This is where the kidos came into their own using a cupcake maker they got for Christmas.
Don't you think they look yummy? Tasted so good!

Finally to burn off the cupcakes we played the Xbox Kinect Athletics. I actually came lst in the hurdles (oh would'nt it be good it was for real!).

Hope you had a good kinda Sunday whatever you were doing.
